This Sea Ray is clean as a whistle, loaded with features, and has been pampered since it was new. If you were to run this boat you would feel the difference between this Sea Ray and and the rest of the ho-hum sport cruisers in the world. Sea Rays construction methods prove their merit time and time again. She planes quickly, and will maintain plane at just 12 mph. She handles like a race boat in the 3500 to 4500rpm range. She arcs through the turns like she was on rails, and responds quickly to helm input. Her great ride is attributed to the fiberglass stringer grid with its full-height, full beam support for this elusive but valuable attribute.
On her deck you will find all of her rail stanchions, cleats, and her ski tow eye are very securely thru-bolted. All of the fixtures sit on a flat area thats been molded into the deck. The mounting flats, stringer grid, and even the clean, grippy, diamond nonslip exist by virtue of the precision provided by Sea Rays five axis routers used to manufacture this boat.
A section of the cockpit lounge converts into a sunpad simply by pulling it out, so there are no extra cushions to store. If you remove another section of the lounge you will reveal a cockpit step so boarding from the side is easy. The gunwale tops are covered with non-slip to also make boarding a snap. The wet bar features a sink, storage, a cooler, and a grab rail that a sumo wrestler couldnt budge. The helm has a nice flat area for electronics molded in. There is plenty of room between the helm and the companion lounge, which seats three or allows some lucky person to recline against the helm. The companionway hatch is a slider with wide bow steps molded in. This is so much better than the tiny little steps most builder put on their boats.
Below decks the 260 Sundancer boasts big-boat style. With a parchment-colored headliner and a wood laminate cabinetry with searails. There is access to the V-Berth stowage from the berth base and by lifting the cushions. Theres a Butane stove in the galley, a microwave oven, and plenty of counter space. The head is molded as a single unit and has a frosted port for privacy and a drain for easy clean up. The midberth is wide enough for two, and features good sitting headroom, and has great ventilation due to the large sliding port.
The engine hatch is cored with closed-cell foam. This s not only makes the hatch stiff but enhances sound retention.
